Air Vice Marshal Walter Amaechi Ogujiofor (NAF 1061) was born on 12 December 1958 at Okigwe, Okigwe LGA in Imo State. His early education was in Imo and Abia States culminating into obtaining GCE ‘O’ and ‘A’ Levels. He passed out from the Nigerian Defence Academy [NDA] in 1976 as a member of SS-12 and obtained his wing as NAF Pilot in1979.He obtained further training and degree qualifications on both flying and academic courses within and outside Nigeria.
He earned the Commercial Pilot’s License [CPL] and Airline Transport Pilot’s License [ATPL] at UK and USA in 1988/1994 respectively. Furthermore, he attained the symbol of psc from Armed Forces Command & Staff College Jaji in 1995, Master of Business Administration MBA (mgt) from Imo State University in the year 2001; Fellow of National War College fwc from the National War College and Msc from the University of Ibadan in 2005. He was elected Fellow of the Certified Institute of Management (fcim) of Nigeria in 2007.
AVM Ogujiofor has served in many NAF Units as operations pilot and flown 3 different operational aircraft types including the Presidential Falcon 900 of the Presidential Air Fleet Abuja. Aside of flying, he has also served in staff and command capacities such as: Commanding Officer of Primary Flying Training Wing, Kaduna; Deputy Director of Air System at the Defence HQ; Command Evaluation Officer (CEO) at HQ TC; Commander at 305 Flying Training School Enugu, NAF Base Makurdi and NAF Base Ikeja respectively; He was the Director of Research, Chief of Defence Communication at the Defence Headquarters and recently the College Secretary at National Defence College.
